The transcript is just a copy and paste of the original script. It didnt end up word for word because some of the improvision worked better than the written material.
One of the things that I havent incorporated yet that Id like to is an area to highlight the actors that volunteer to be a part of things. This will change shortly as soon as Ive coerced pictures and write ups aboot the people you see and/or hear.
For TrueLies, I was trying to be very formal and professional. I used contracts and tried to arrange just in case scenerios to make certain everyones rights were protected. Since Blehzcast is trying to directly mock a large company and not beat around a town looking for oddities, I took volunteers. Should legal issues arise in Blehzcast, Id just comply with their suggestions as I really did pilfer quite a bit of graphics and design from their site. I dont think it will, though. I think they have a sense of humour. I mean, if they can get away with putting Linken, Loken, Agent Skully, Tyler and Jack, etc in their videogame, I think a little ribbing wont make them testy.
There is a slight problem with volume. Its a wee bit difficult to fix at the moment, but Im going to keep working on it with the assistance of a volunteer or two to make it easier to hear. The file will get replaced as soon as this gets done.
One link that should be referenced is this article aboot women in the gaming industry. When recording, it would have been finished and in post production four times as quicker if I would have cast more women. I dont know why this town is like that, but it works that way with the actors around here. And the only reason I didnt ? I had people in mind for certain parts. Of course, I threw in cheap gags at the end that wouldnt score any points. Except that I think theyre funny.
To be fair, I do play WoW. One of the only reasons I got so far is because of people like my one and only who carried me through some of the levels when she was outlevelling and outplaying me. At the time I just didnt want to progress. Does this make her the better player ? Yes, probably.
Im gonna post aboot writing the scripts and the recording proceedure soon. For now, take a ginder. Which is like a gander, but with your ears.</itunes:summary>

Adriennes outtakes are mainly due to wind and bits that got cut due to audio problems. She unfortunatly got more than her fair share of unavoidable problems from nature which caused shots and locations to be changed, altered, redone and some ultimately scrapped. It was a shame as most are on the money.
Liz has a way to make a face MILLISECONDS after shes done something which is extremely difficult to edit. She, like Adrienne, had FULL SHOOTS where I couldnt steal any outtakes or bloopers because they had a strong idea of what they were going to say and they just said it.
Meghan and I, on the other hand, were slightly different. I know myself enough to know that I wasnt completely certain I knew what I was going to say at all. Meghan would say what she liked, think aboot it, cut what she didnt like and redo the entire thing by the last take. Both of us, though, had the habit of laughing at what was coming oot of our mouths.
It was very silly and very fun. And now, its very over. I will try to polish a couple things and use this as a proof of concept but there probably wont be any more videos coming down the tube, as it were. Website wise, truelies.ca will always point towards this project. At least for the next two years. If recording equipment comes at me again, because it was wonderfully fun to do I would jump on the chance to do this again.
Next project should be ready in two weeks. Ill warn you now that its a podcast. Or a mockcast, as I calls them. Until then, Im gonna work on the website a bit to reorganize things. Maybe get someone who knows flash a bit to make a better intro and menu system that I can utilize.
Until next time, thanks for watching.</itunes:summary>

Meghan came up with a lot of this in the audition process that I set up. Meghans audition was as different as everyone elses audition, which is to say different. No one had a bad audition, but it did highlight the individuals strength quite well. Part of Meghans strength was her accent. I could hear silly BBC reporter in it everytime she started talking and in the back of my mind I was convinced that she got it. It meaning the joke that I was trying to get accross from the start with all these clips.
We have one more video clip that didnt have a home, so it gets stapled to the end next week. Following that, we have a fairly big blooper reel and the project gets closed. Thanks again for watching.
**NOTE** I may have lifted the driveway joke from newspaper columnest (and luckily friend) Hubert OHearn.

This is me up there being blown around. Seriously, if you would have tied a rope to my leg you would have been able fly me around. Next microphone I borrow might have to include a wind blocker.
This clip is late because 1) Im dreading this being over so I procrastinated a lot and 2) I started this upload at 11am on Tuesday. At 1am Wednesday I arrived home after work to see the screen unchanged. Im not certain my YouTube hates either me, firefox or some weird combination that I have working for me but its really unfriendly sometimes. Luckily, I dual boot to linux and everything is fine.
To address #1 a little better, Im sad this is gonna be over soon. I had fun shooting, acting and editing these up. I wish there was more than a couple weeks left. I cant tell you how many times I had friends come up to me and say, You know what we should shoot ? and me to agree only for me to ask them if they have any sort of camera. It doesnt look like this would be popular enough in general to release in any form to the public besides the one that its in. Aside the copies Im gonna make for performers and family, the one official copy Ill make will be used as a proof of concept to try to sell a different show. Since Im only selling the script, it wont get any post time up here.
For the future of this site, soon Ill have a mock podcast to put up which is the start of the next project. After that theres some mock news that a friend wants me to work on. After that, well, maybe a redesign will be in order. I guess well have to see.</itunes:summary>

This is one of two that we shot twice. The first was very silhouette-y and dark, if you know what I mean, so we came back and did it again. The only other one we did that with was the Tomb of Harold because you couldnt see the reporters face at all. The problem with just picking up and shooting places is that you dont get luxuries like equipment or lighting. Can be tricky.
This segment is also the first where the camera work is infallable. Elizabeth, whose name I cant seem to spell, finally gets the flattering shot she deserves.</itunes:summary>

This is a short one which means that therell be another one following in the next couple days. We literally were filming that day and decided to hit Boulevard to see if we could improv anything. We had just done the bluffs and I asked Liz and Mike if they had another 30 mins to film. Neither objected so we got this nice little ditty.
If I were able to shoot more footage of anything, Id want a body floating in water. I thought it would be hilarious to have this little segment aboot Boulevard being less infectious, then having a little clip of a body floating by. Surprisingly, neither Mike or Liz would agree to go in Boulevard face down for upwards of 20-30 mins so I could film this. At least, at the time.
The truth of this one is: the place is pretty gross. Also, it is sunny where people come to sunbathe. I still dont see how the two mix.</itunes:summary>

And this is also where we made fun of Paul Shaffer for the first time. Paul is famous for his work on the various Letterman shows and is one of the rare celebrities to emerge from Thunder Bay. When youre famous, its okay to make fun of you. Did you also know that when youre famous there are no longer free pictures of you on the internet ? None that either werent from sketchy sources or had a price tag attached.
We have another month of these to go, then itll be over. What should we do with them ?</itunes:summary>

Lies: We actually know nothing aboot Frank McVicker or the actual founder of the park.
Please feel free to leave comments as to the actual history of Vickers Park. One thing that I do know is that there are two stones on either side of the park. The rumour that I heard was that the park is only city land until these stones are displaced. Im not certain if that is true, but if I was a wealthy investor, Id smell a slight traffic accident in my near future.
Again, all the takes were brilliantly improvd. It was difficult to determine which was actually the best. If any improv groups need a ringer for a show and Adrienne is free, I would suggest her 100% of the time.</itunes:summary>

Watching these takes is a difficult task afterwards as I wish I could have told myself that I needed to keep the accent consistent. Also, the end joke changed from dont eat the tulips to dont smoke the tulips and back again. I still dont know which is funny or funnier.
This was taken on the first day of shooting myself prior to the conservatory shooting. I remember when I was making these that I wanted to have an ugly beard to make the character look silly. I also remember wanting to complete the entire shooting in a couple weeks so as I didnt have to have that ugly beard any longer than necessary.
What is Friendship Gardens ? Its a place of international friendship, apparently. I quite honestly dont know too much aboot it besides its full of these pavilion things, its a good place to feed ducks in the summer or collect leaves in the fall and that its one of the best places for a game of tag. If you see 30 year olds run around giggling, that might be me.
This is slightly late. Ill make it up to you by trying to get the next weeks one out on Friday. This one is also the end piece to ep2. It was a fine ep while it lasted.</itunes:summary>

	<itunes:summary>Adrienne at Intercity

This was shot the same day as the Golf Dome and Vickers Park. Adrienne asked for a couple minutes to figure oot what she wanted to say then went with it and always came up with something different each take. The major problem with this shooting was the wind noise. We did quite a few takes and this one was the cleanest as well as the best improv. Adrienne, and all performers in this series actually, was a delight to work with especially in the minimalistic conditions she was given.
The phenomenon discussed here isnt city wide or province wide, but country wide. I dont know anywhere with a moderate to large population that isnt infested with big box stores and little price stores. Its an amazing marketing technique and Im always flabbergasted at the fact that they make money.
We have two cameos in this one. The first is the old building in the background. I dont recall its origin, but its somewhat surrounded by a residential zone and cannot be demolished. Or at least, thats what Ive heard. The other cameo is my van. Its at the end shot. I needed to get more scenery and shot it quickly to avoid possible confrontations.
We should have the new project details up soon. I just have to procure the audio equipment and secure the casting. If you live in the neighbourhood and want to do some free voice acting, then leave me some contact info.</itunes:summary>

Again, if we didnt have Mike, we probably wouldnt have gotten the panning shots or the zooms, which were done repeatedly by hand until it looked alright. At this point, we had wished for a tripod that wasnt made for normal cameras and more for the motion picture kind and also a zoom that wasnt incredibly over sensitive. Mix that into the fact that we were all sinking into the mud, and you have a fun part of the day.
This was actually a great day as we got to discuss what the serious project was going to be once this one was all done and stuff. Im looking forward to getting to that one day once the script gets approved by the people Im roping in to help me and the storyboards get done, which is something new that did not happen in this project. Who needs details and planning when you have improv, right ?</itunes:summary>

We had a lot of fun filming this because it was early in the day and we were full of energy and possibly hot chocolate. The bell featured in this clip is located at Hillcrest Park. I am completely uncertain of its history. I highly recommend a google of this to find oot more as for the first time in this series, I too am stumped on why this is there. Please feel free to enlighten me in the comments.
The audio again was redone once to try to clean out the wind noise. I dont like the volume limitation I seem to get once I put it through a low/high end tunnel like this but its actually a lot better than the garbled huff of wind that it used to be.
Mike, again, was present and made the suggestion on this day that maybe we should get shots of other things as well and took a shot of that flag as a demonstration. In the biz, they call this b-roll that they use for filler and for patching segments or crossfades. As soon as you hit the editing process, you realize that this is the easy stuff.
This is also another segment where I mention someone famous. Little did I realize that there are no pictures of famous people that arent copyrighted. Even Paul Shaffer who, since this is the town of his birth, is getting a good ribbing later on.</itunes:summary>

Meghan had people walk through the shot. Usually on bicycles. Usually screaming.
Tune in tomorrow when the first bit of the next episode will be up. I put a new word intro to each title sequence, but that seems like a waste to upload ALL of them. Itll be something for the possible DVD.</itunes:summary>

In the outtakes, you hear my response to Mikes direction Try doing the whole thing in the accent. which was very spot on. I havent ever gotten an accent down pat except for my regular Canadian.
And there is TWO truths in this one. 1. It does look like a dilapidating warehouse. 2. It did get famous for peyote. If you love that place as much as I do, visit it often and donate when you can. They have a little tip jar which needs and deserves some lovin when you go to visit. They do some amazing things in there.
So thats the first four which would wrap up one segment pack. Next week, we have credits, a special bit of filler and maybe the start to the next. Hope to see you then !</itunes:summary>

Balsam Park has always been an enigma in the city. Why is this here ? Was it an asteroid hitting the earth ? A hotbed for stomping dinosaur parties ? A reclamation of much needed soil ? Filling this explanation closes the door to a mystery which plagued imaginations for mere decades if not seconds.
I have also been there as little as eight months ago when there was a premium amount of snow and it may just just as dangerous today as it was in ages past.
Here, we introduce the equally lovely Elizabeth Cloidt to the team who brought a completely different style of presentation. A relative newcomer in comparison, she was brilliant to work with. Ive since tried to encourage her to get involved in as much local theatre as possible. Often if asked if I could volunteer for some group activity, I reply, No, but I know this female actor whod be perfect for the part. Quite often Im referring to Elizabeth.
Again, its a landscape shot. Youre going to see a lot of these. For this particular one, the camera was balancing on a rickety bleacher that was stashed in the field. A tip of the hat to Michael Kearney as he was crew on said day which meant that he pushed the button. Looking back, it must have been interesting for an actual film student to be flung into a random crazy video experience like this. I am glad hes a patient and understanding sort.</itunes:summary>

At the time, she looked at the idea on the script, chose whether or not to use it and told the camera when she was ready. For this reason alone, there are fewer outtakes of Adrienne than there are of anyone else.
The location for this segment was obviously the Thunder Bay Golf Dome which has since changed names and owners since the filming. More sport options are now available. Who is to say what the aliens will do when they find out.</itunes:summary>

The first project, True Lies of Our Hometown, originated as a joke between Geoff and Sarah Rusak during a visit to Winnipeg. Sarah was able to brilliantly improv 30 second quick vignettes in regards to famous landmarks. Many years later, Geoff remembered how funny this idea was and started to film the concept.
The actors were given a vague description of what was required, had a camera pointed at them and I shouted ‘GO’. Meaning the majority of these were completely improvisational compositions.
True Lies is a mock tourism video. A Thunder Bay Vignette that just goes wrong. A silly look at things that don’t make sense aboot a city. If it was a DVD, on the cover would read ‘A Mock News Story That Tells Lies Aboot A Small Town’. Or maybe something smoother, catchier, worded properly.
True Lies was shot entirely with borrowed equipment consisting of a wonderful microphone borrowed from a church, Nexxtech and unknown brand audio adapters and a sony handycam. It is not known to this day whether the handycam still has any legible serial numbers.</itunes:summary>
