I don’t play much compared to how much I used to play.
Got a chance to play yesterday and I have to say that I love the random battlegrounds. Got wasted on the first one and won 1600/1550 in AB on the second. I thought we’d get the achievement for being so close.
I’m off to continue trying to have a successful normal life. Hopefully it dies down more and I can actually play something serious. I needs me more upgrades so I can compete with everyone else.
I was listening to guild chat during that time (reading, actually) and they were saying that when you’re gone a month, then you’re pretty far down in terms of equipment. I must look like an ancient relic by now. Ah well, such is the way of the raider. I guess that’s why I never really got into it hardcore.

Yes, I’m alive. Three weeks of constant testing ending in exams that I did well in, luckily enough. During this time, I didn’t put in any time to my mage. I did however put time into my warlock.
Why? Because I wanted to level up my engineering. I’m not an altaholic so much when it comes to leveling, but I do want to have every profession in the game. It’s kinda handy to do that. Last night, though, I logged into my mage for the first time in a while.
At first, it was because I wanted to do something with the MASSIVE amount of netherweave I’ve been sending myself. Dear anyone on Sentinels, I put 16 slot bags up in blocks of 40 for 5 gold a pop. They all sold. If you pay more, then there’s a greedy goblin making money off you.
Once that was done, I felt like actually doing something. I’m not active in my guild and I don’t dare set foot in a random dungeon while I need to put everyone on /ignore for needing on the stupid frozen orbs. (Yes, I hate you.) I tried my hand at WG, having an amazing time of dying in a very fun manner. Considering my further options and being too excited to call it quits right away, I popped into a bg and picked up the daily quest to do so.
I arrive at Arathi Basin 8 about half way through the fight. I hear the usual ‘horde sucks, we always lose’ crap that happens and sure enough it becomes a self fulfilling prophesy. I grab some more mats and queue up again.
This round, we’re doing good. I’m bobbing and weaving like this is a fight versus Tyson himself and my ear has extra ketchup (catsup?). We’ve got a solid group and we’re holding our own. I’m doing my hollistic following pattern where I start changing behind anyone who vaguely looks like they know what they’re doing. As a fire mage that’s not spec’d for pvp, I rely on just causing as much havoc and chaos as I can before dying which acts mainly as a distraction in a very fun way. I usually end up taking out a couple people. A small group of us were running at the stables and suddenly… GAME CRASH
I’m swearing my face off thinking that we might have won but my computer was too stupid to let me and that I’ll be marked as afk and kicked out of the bg and and and… I log in and I’m back in the match. Apparently we took the stables. BG chat tells me that there was some kind of server glitch and to try to cap EVERYTHING. Next thing I know the mine get taken. I decide to hold my ground and sure enough a human priest walks right past me and tries to start capturing the stables. Now, that may seem odd, but when you saw that there were a lot of people running in the spot or doing nothing all over the grounds, it seems like a reasonable thing to do when the enemy is standing there doing nothing like I was.
Took him down REALLY quickly. It was kinda funny. I /hugged his spirit healer form after I killed him to add insult to the injury. Then I faced a rogue who literally came out of nowhere. I nearly took him down, which made me believe that either I have gotten better or people have gotten worse. My streak ended when the priest and pally came back. As I died, the living bomb exploded and killed the rogue off. I claim that as a victory.
We did end up winning and I got to complete the daily, which was my goal for the day. It was very rewarding and quite fun. I may try that again today, time permitting.
Kill of the day, though, goes to the resto druid in WG that I killed. I tried to solo take over a factory. He came running in and 6 spells later was a burning lump of leaves. I like them better that way. Then 6 more showed up to reinforce and I remembered why that it’s best to actually have a plan.. or a group.. or a bigger gun.
