Death of a Fire Mage

Last night we were finishing up the alchemists’ quest to get fast flight form. My rogue is my alchemist and I generously gave myself the 5k needed to avoid annoyance. Since Thrallmar had the skill on for 4k instead, she’s ready for northrend as well. My wife’s alchemist isn’t so fortunate as she’s a druid. Now she could wait a level and buy the form, but that’s pretty much like cheating. Or crazy talk. Or just something that neither of us want to do since this was a new questline that neither of us had seen before. I mean, how awesome is a new horde questline that you’ve never seen before when you have 3 80s already? Pretty awesome.

I log in my DK, our friend logs in her priest (both 80s) and we do the Heroic and finished it through crazy chaotic pulls and I realized that I play the WORST tank ever. I probably just don’t understand the concept or something. I, for some reason, just stink at being a tank. Heroic Sethekk Halls done, my wife logs in her main so we can try a random dungeon and get tossed in ToC. 3 Deaths later, the warrior says ‘one last try’ and we down Argent Confessor Paletress in what I would say is an Epic Fight^TM. The warrior leaves, our friend the priest leaves and the paladin doesn’t stick around after they leave and goes without a word. I’m very apollogetic throughout this event.

Three things I realized:

1. Without someone to dispell/spellsteal the revives that Paletress dishes out, that fight is hard. As Carnus, I steal the shit out of that AND the haste that Champion Ambrose casts and I love it. Those are delicious spells.

2. Advice for people like me is appreciate if phrased politely. The warrior stated ‘death grib the hunter’ for the champion fight, which I did and on that pull the hunter didn’t 1 shot the healer. It was still chaos, but we lived.
3. Watch your aggro. I had to do this when I respecialized my mage, and all dps should as well. When I was apollogizing to the healer for not being at all good, she was upset at the dps for not watching their aggro. She stated that she could outdps tanks in BC on her enh shaman while in greens and it was up to her not to, so why should it be different now.

To which I replied, ‘Good point’.

Over twenty five minutes in the queue for a BATTLEGROUND now.

Seriously, this is why I get bored of WoW.

Also, the best reason to own a DS aside from public transit.
