good article

Seeing as how I’m going to be looking into the LFD system to do most of my raids, this article hits the heart. I say that because I probably won’t have the time to get into a scheduled, organized and efficient group like one my guild would offer.

For the most part, please don’t be a dick. That’s all I ask. I’m one of those people who doesn’t care if we wipe 20x. If you’re a douche about it, then it’ll upset me. If everyone’s friendly and supportive, then I see it as a learning opportunity.

Storytime:
We took down the sunwell. Not back in the day, but roughly half a year ago. We had a LOT of people because they either wanted the outfits for RP, they wanted to see the oldschool content or they had an alt that could survive and get an upgrade. There’s a fight with a Feldragon about half way in whose breath weapon is a green mind controlling mist. The mind control lasts until you die. She picks one of three areas to infest with the mist at random. If everyone gets mind controlled, the whole raid just autodies.

Even though we were all horribly overgeared, we had troubles getting past this point because there was always someone who got stuck in the breath. The guild leader who was leading the raid eventually found a way to rally everyone at points in the field and was able to call out where exactly to be with no deviation or doubt.

The rest of the fights were cake, but that was just redonculous. Proper communication, leadership and the acceptance to try, try again won us the day. And, as someone who is a sucker for lore, what a tasty day it was.

busy days

So, I’ve been much too busy with real life to play much in the last week or two. We ran into some serious problems that will hopefully clear up before the week is up. One thing that I have been following is the newest biggest patches.

In 3.3.something (either 5 or 3 which makes me believe that the number 4 may not exist) we’re getting wonderful bonuses to combustion and a slightly faster fireball. Yay. I think my crit is high enough on it’s own to warrent a slightly quicker kill. They seem to be just improving and improving fire each and every patch, which I am definitely for.

I think in Cataclysm they’re removing spirit from mana regen for all but priests. It’ll be the healing stat and that’s that. I’m not certain what I think of that. I just started getting some spirit to complement my molten armour and get myself that little more crit that I like. Add that to the mana restoration effect that stops me from having to sit and eat every 5 seconds, then you get a desirable skill. What’s going to happen to all us spell casters in the next big world explosion?

And if there’s going to be a patch 3.3.5, then they better start rolling these out. We’ve only got till about November till the world explodes and that isn’t all that much longer.

On a side note, congrats to The Glaivecow for kicking butt and, in this case, excluding names. One of these days I’ll be able to put forth the time and detication to be one of his willing soldiers. Until then, I’m glad to cheer from the sidelines.

I play a Fire Mage in World of Warcraft. There doesn’t seem to be many of us around, or at least the ones that do don't write aboot it. It’s all Frost pvp or Arcane this or that which just blows my mind. Seriously. My spec isn't somethng I’d recommend to anyone else in the world. It’s not what you’d call good or efficient. I’m a casual gamer. I stick to the 15$/month form of the cheapest entertainment I can get. Also, I like gin.
