Happy Holidays Video

I haven’t shot anything new in quite a while, but I did get a swanky new microphone as a present that I’m itching to try out. 2 reasons for this post:

  1. Happy Holidays
  2. Check out this video that queued up in my inbox:
Silent Night, Christmas Short Film – A Silent night with Christmas music, driving through the darkened streets of a mysterious Canadian town. In the spirit of documentary this film is strictly observational. Fairly subjective, as it is taken from a single shot. I wanted this to be reminiscent of Guy Maddin’s winter back alley scenes in “My Winnipeg” and Andy Warhol’s “Empire”. Simple crop and colour effect. Ironically this was shot in April, not close to Christmastime.

I was puzzled for the opening road but then when the second bit rolled past I caught familiar landmarks. Well done, sir. And hope you’re all having a safe one.
