Truelies 1-5: Outtakes

Here is the conglomeration of all the outtakes. All of them. This took a lot longer than I figured because you really have to review EVERYTHING to get all this. For your patience, you get them all instead of just one or two at a time.

Adrienne’s outtakes are mainly due to wind and bits that got cut due to audio problems. She unfortunatly got more than her fair share of unavoidable problems from nature which caused shots and locations to be changed, altered, redone and some ultimately scrapped. It was a shame as most are on the money.

Liz has a way to make a face MILLISECONDS after she’s done something which is extremely difficult to edit. She, like Adrienne, had FULL SHOOTS where I couldn’t steal any outtakes or bloopers because they had a strong idea of what they were going to say and they just said it.

Meghan and I, on the other hand, were slightly different. I know myself enough to know that I wasn’t completely certain I knew what I was going to say at all. Meghan would say what she liked, think aboot it, cut what she didn’t like and redo the entire thing by the last take. Both of us, though, had the habit of laughing at what was coming oot of our mouths.

It was very silly and very fun. And now, it’s very over. I will try to polish a couple things and use this as a proof of concept but there probably won’t be any more videos coming down the tube, as it were. Website wise, truelies.ca will always point towards this project. At least for the next two years. If recording equipment comes at me again, because it was wonderfully fun to do I would jump on the chance to do this again.

Next project should be ready in two weeks. I’ll warn you now that it’s a podcast. Or a mockcast, as I calls them. Until then, I’m gonna work on the website a bit to reorganize things. Maybe get someone who knows flash a bit to make a better intro and menu system that I can utilize.

Until next time, thanks for watching.

Truelies 5, Segment 4

Meghan at the Auditorium

Meghan came up with a lot of this in the audition process that I set up. Meghan’s audition was as different as everyone else’s audition, which is to say different. No one had a bad audition, but it did highlight the individual’s strength quite well. Part of Meghan’s strength was her accent. I could hear silly BBC reporter in it everytime she started talking and in the back of my mind I was convinced that she got it. It meaning the joke that I was trying to get accross from the start with all these clips.

We have one more video clip that didn’t have a home, so it gets stapled to the end next week. Following that, we have a fairly big blooper reel and the project gets closed. Thanks again for watching.

**NOTE** I may have lifted the ‘drive…way’ joke from newspaper columnest (and luckily friend) Hubert O’Hearn.

Geoff Atop Mount McKay

This is me up there being blown around. Seriously, if you would have tied a rope to my leg you would have been able fly me around. Next microphone I borrow might have to include a wind blocker.

This clip is late because 1) I’m dreading this being over so I procrastinated a lot and 2) I started this upload at 11am on Tuesday. At 1am Wednesday I arrived home after work to see the screen unchanged. I’m not certain my YouTube hates either me, firefox or some weird combination that I have working for me but it’s really unfriendly sometimes. Luckily, I dual boot to linux and everything is fine.

To address #1 a little better, I’m sad this is gonna be over soon. I had fun shooting, acting and editing these up. I wish there was more than a couple weeks left. I can’t tell you how many times I had friends come up to me and say, ‘You know what we should shoot ?’ and me to agree only for me to ask them if they have any sort of camera. It doesn’t look like this would be popular enough in general to release in any form to the public besides the one that it’s in. Aside the copies I’m gonna make for performers and family, the one official copy I’ll make will be used as a proof of concept to try to sell a different show. Since I’m only selling the script, it won’t get any post time up here.

For the future of this site, soon I’ll have a mock podcast to put up which is the start of the next project. After that there’s some mock news that a friend wants me to work on. After that, well, maybe a redesign will be in order. I guess we’ll have to see.
